A hearty and healthy slow cooker turkey white bean chili packed with tender ground turkey, creamy white beans, and flavorful spices. Perfect for a cozy dinner with minimal effort.
Ingredients
1 pound ground turkey
1 medium yellow onion, diced
3 cloves garlic, minced
2 cans (15 ounces each) cannellini beans, drained and rinsed
1 can (4 ounces) diced green chilies
1 cup low-sodium chicken broth
1 teaspoon ground cumin
1 teaspoon dried oregano
1/2 teaspoon chili powder
1/2 teaspoon smoked paprika
1/4 teaspoon cayenne pepper
1/2 teaspoon salt
1/4 teaspoon black pepper
1 tablespoon olive oil
1/4 cup chopped fresh cilantro, for garnish
1 medium lime, cut into wedges, for serving
Instructions
Heat olive oil in a large skillet over medium heat.
Add diced onion and cook for 3-4 minutes until softened.
Add minced garlic and cook for 1 minute until fragrant.
Add ground turkey to the skillet and cook until browned, breaking it apart with a spoon, about 5-6 minutes.
Transfer the cooked turkey, onions, and garlic to the slow cooker.
Add cannellini beans, diced green chilies, chicken broth, ground cumin, dried oregano, chili powder, smoked paprika, cayenne pepper, salt, and black pepper to the slow cooker.
Stir all ingredients together until well combined.
Cover and cook on low for 6 hours.
After cooking, stir the chili and taste to adjust seasoning if needed.
Serve the chili hot, garnished with chopped fresh cilantro and lime wedges on the side.
