Description
A quick and easy one pot pasta recipe using jarred pasta sauce. Perfect for a simple weeknight dinner with minimal cleanup.
Ingredients
12 ounces dry pasta (such as penne or rotini)
24 ounces jarred pasta sauce
4 cups water
1 tablespoon olive oil
2 cloves garlic, minced
1 teaspoon dried Italian seasoning
1/2 teaspoon salt
1/4 teaspoon black pepper
1/4 cup grated Parmesan cheese
2 tablespoons chopped fresh basil
Instructions
In a large pot or deep skillet, heat the olive oil over medium heat.
Add the minced garlic and sauté for 1 minute until fragrant, stirring frequently to prevent burning.
Pour in the jarred pasta sauce, water, dried Italian seasoning, salt, and black pepper. Stir to combine.
Add the dry pasta to the pot and stir to submerge the pasta in the liquid.
Bring the mixture to a boil over medium-high heat, then reduce the heat to medium-low and simmer uncovered.
Cook for 12-15 minutes, stirring occasionally, until the pasta is tender and most of the liquid has been absorbed.
Remove the pot from heat and stir in the grated Parmesan cheese and chopped fresh basil.
Serve immediately, garnished with additional Parmesan cheese or basil if desired.
