Description

A simple and delicious no yeast bread that is quick to make and perfect for sandwiches or toast. This bread uses baking powder as a leavening agent, making it ideal for those who want fresh bread without the wait.

Ingredients

2 cups all-purpose flour
1 tablespoon baking powder
1 teaspoon salt
1 tablespoon sugar
1 cup milk
1/4 cup vegetable oil
1 large egg

Instructions

Preheat the oven to 375°F (190°C).
In a large mixing bowl, whisk together the all-purpose flour, baking powder, salt, and sugar until well combined.
In a separate bowl, beat the egg, then add the milk and vegetable oil. Mix well.
Pour the wet ingredients into the dry ingredients and stir until just combined. Do not overmix; the batter will be slightly thick.
Grease a 9×5 inch loaf pan with oil or non-stick spray.
Pour the batter into the prepared loaf pan and spread it evenly.
Bake in the preheated oven for 25 to 30 minutes, or until the top is golden brown and a toothpick inserted into the center comes out clean.
Remove the bread from the oven and let it cool in the pan for 10 minutes.
Transfer the bread to a wire rack to cool completely before slicing.
