Ingredients
2 1/4 cups all-purpose flour
1 teaspoon baking soda
1/2 teaspoon salt
1 cup unsalted butter, softened
3/4 cup granulated sugar
3/4 cup packed brown sugar
1 teaspoon vanilla extract
2 large eggs
2 cups semisweet chocolate chips
1/2 cup red and green colored sugar sprinkles
Instructions
Preheat the oven to 375°F (190°C). Line two baking sheets with parchment paper.
In a medium bowl, whisk together the all-purpose flour, baking soda, and salt. Set aside.
In a large bowl, use an electric mixer to cream the softened butter, granulated sugar, and brown sugar until light and fluffy, about 3 minutes.
Add the vanilla extract and eggs one at a time, beating well after each addition.
Gradually add the flour mixture to the wet ingredients, mixing on low speed until just combined.
Fold in the semisweet chocolate chips evenly throughout the dough.
Using a tablespoon, scoop cookie dough balls onto the prepared baking sheets, spacing them about 2 inches apart.
Sprinkle the red and green colored sugar sprinkles generously on top of each cookie dough ball to add a festive touch.
Bake in the preheated oven for 10 to 12 minutes, or until the edges are golden brown but the centers remain soft.
Remove the cookies from the oven and allow them to cool on the baking sheets for 5 minutes before transferring to wire racks to cool completely.
