Description

A simple, creamy tomato pasta that’s perfect for kids. This easy recipe combines tender pasta with a mild tomato sauce and creamy cheese, making it a comforting and delicious dinner the whole family will enjoy.

Ingredients

8 ounces elbow macaroni pasta
1 tablespoon olive oil
2 cloves garlic, minced
1 cup canned tomato sauce
1/2 cup whole milk
1/2 cup shredded mild cheddar cheese
1/4 teaspoon salt
1/4 teaspoon black pepper
1/4 teaspoon dried basil
1/4 teaspoon sugar
2 tablespoons grated Parmesan cheese

Instructions

Bring a large pot of salted water to a boil.
Add the elbow macaroni pasta to the boiling water and cook according to package instructions until al dente, about 8-10 minutes.
Drain the pasta and set aside.
In the same pot, heat the olive oil over medium heat.
Add the minced garlic and sauté for 1 minute until fragrant, being careful not to burn it.
Pour in the canned tomato sauce and stir to combine with the garlic.
Add the whole milk, salt, black pepper, dried basil, and sugar to the tomato sauce. Stir well and let it simmer for 3-4 minutes.
Reduce the heat to low and add the shredded cheddar cheese to the sauce. Stir until the cheese is melted and the sauce is creamy.
Add the cooked pasta back into the pot with the sauce. Stir well to coat all the pasta evenly.
Remove from heat and sprinkle the grated Parmesan cheese on top.
Serve the creamy tomato pasta warm.
