Description

A classic, comforting tuna casserole topped with crispy French fried onions for a deliciously crunchy finish. This easy-to-make dish combines tuna, noodles, creamy sauce, and vegetables for a satisfying meal.

Ingredients

8 ounces egg noodles
2 cans (5 ounces each) tuna in water, drained
1 can (10.5 ounces) condensed cream of mushroom soup
1 cup frozen peas, thawed
1 cup shredded sharp cheddar cheese
1/2 cup milk
1/2 cup sour cream
1/4 cup finely chopped onion
1/2 teaspoon garlic powder
1/2 teaspoon black pepper
1/2 teaspoon salt
1 1/3 cups French fried onions

Instructions

Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C).
Cook the egg noodles according to package instructions until al dente. Drain and set aside.
In a large mixing bowl, combine the cream of mushroom soup, milk, sour cream, garlic powder, black pepper, and salt. Stir until smooth.
Add the drained tuna, thawed peas, chopped onion, shredded cheddar cheese, and cooked noodles to the bowl. Mix gently until all ingredients are evenly combined.
Transfer the mixture to a 9×13 inch baking dish and spread evenly.
Bake uncovered in the preheated oven for 20 minutes.
Remove the casserole from the oven and sprinkle the French fried onions evenly over the top.
Return the casserole to the oven and bake for an additional 10 minutes, or until the onions are golden brown and crispy.
Remove from the oven and let cool for 5 minutes before serving.
