Marry Me Meatballs are tender, flavorful Italian-style meatballs simmered in a creamy, spicy tomato sauce. This dish is perfect for a cozy dinner and is sure to impress with its rich flavors and comforting texture.
Ingredients
1 pound ground Italian sausage
1/2 pound ground beef
1/2 cup Italian seasoned breadcrumbs
1/4 cup grated Parmesan cheese
1/4 cup whole milk
1 large egg
3 cloves garlic, minced
2 tablespoons chopped fresh parsley
1 teaspoon salt
1/2 teaspoon black pepper
2 tablespoons olive oil
3 cups marinara sauce
1/2 cup heavy cream
1/4 teaspoon crushed red pepper flakes
1/4 cup chopped fresh basil
Additional grated Parmesan cheese, for serving
Instructions
In a large bowl, combine ground Italian sausage, ground beef, Italian seasoned breadcrumbs, grated Parmesan cheese, whole milk, egg, minced garlic, chopped fresh parsley, salt, and black pepper.
Mix all ingredients together gently with your hands until just combined, being careful not to overmix.
Form the mixture into 1 1/2-inch meatballs and place them on a baking sheet.
Heat olive oil in a large skillet over medium heat.
Add the meatballs in batches and brown them on all sides, about 5-7 minutes per batch. Remove browned meatballs and set aside.
In the same skillet, add marinara sauce and bring to a simmer.
Stir in heavy cream and crushed red pepper flakes, mixing well to combine.
Return the browned meatballs to the skillet, spooning some sauce over them.
Cover and simmer on low heat for 20 minutes, or until meatballs are cooked through.
Stir in chopped fresh basil just before serving.
Serve the meatballs hot, topped with additional grated Parmesan cheese.
