Description

A comforting and hearty Chicken Hash Brown Casserole featuring tender chicken, crispy hash browns, creamy cheese sauce, and a crunchy topping. Perfect for a family dinner or potluck.

Ingredients

4 cups frozen shredded hash browns, thawed
2 cups cooked chicken breast, shredded
1 cup sour cream
1 can (10.5 ounces) condensed cream of chicken soup
1/2 cup unsalted butter, melted
1/2 cup chopped yellow onion
2 cups shredded sharp cheddar cheese
1/2 teaspoon garlic powder
1/2 teaspoon onion powder
1/4 teaspoon black pepper
1/2 teaspoon salt
1 1/2 cups crushed cornflakes cereal
2 tablespoons unsalted butter, melted (for topping)

Instructions

Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C). Lightly grease a 9×13 inch casserole dish.
In a large mixing bowl, combine the thawed shredded hash browns, shredded cooked chicken, chopped yellow onion, sour cream, condensed cream of chicken soup, 1/2 cup melted butter, garlic powder, onion powder, salt, black pepper, and 1 1/2 cups shredded cheddar cheese. Mix thoroughly until all ingredients are evenly incorporated.
Transfer the mixture into the prepared casserole dish and spread it out evenly.
In a small bowl, combine the crushed cornflakes with 2 tablespoons melted butter. Stir until the cornflakes are evenly coated.
Sprinkle the buttered cornflake mixture evenly over the top of the casserole.
Bake in the preheated oven for 55 to 60 minutes, or until the casserole is bubbly and the topping is golden brown.
Remove from the oven and let the casserole rest for 5 minutes before serving.
